Dear Vice-Chancellors and other members,
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Association of West Africa Universities (AWAU), I wish you compliments of the season and a prosperous 2024 in advance.
We want to register our appreciation to our esteemed members for keeping faith with the Association throughout 2023 and it is our hope that this level of support will be increased upon in the coming year.
Early in the year, AWAU had her 8th Annual Conference and the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in The Gambia and it was very successful as the conference was very well attended. At the AGM, a new Executive Committee was elected. The Executive Committee embarked on strategic engagements with critical stakeholders and partners with a view to consolidating on the gains of the Association. The engagements were fruitful and promising.
We look forward to improving on all these in the new year.
As a value addition proposition, the Association is hoping that its members will have opportunity of
● sponsorship of its academic and non academic staff to conferences within and outside the sub-region;
● collaborative research with scholars across the West African sub-region;
● assesment of research grants in sustainable development and Artficial Intelligence;
● staffs and students exchange.
In 2024, the 9th Annual conference and the 11th AGM will hold at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana between 20th and 23rd February, 2024 on the theme- PROMOTING QUALITY TERTIARY EDUCATION IN WEST AFRICA THROUGH COLLABORATION, REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND TECHNOLOGY.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the conference for networking, collaboration and exchange of ideas to develop tertiary education in our sub-region.
